Supporting Big Ideas and Making the World Smaller with the Fund for Education Abroad during International Education Week

Four years ago, we chose to sponsor the Fund for Education Abroad because it is a non-profit organization that shares the values that drive us at YUI+Company, including community, courage, compassion, and manifesting potential. FEA envisions a future in which any U.S. student who dreams of studying abroad can realize that dream, and we thank all of you who have supported this mission since their founding in 2010. To assist FEA in changing lives and changing the world, we have helped FEA communicate who they are, what they do, and why it matters to others who share these values. We are grateful to know our efforts have helped to make study abroad more accessible and more diverse by helping raise the visibility and increase donations at FEA’s Annual Scholar Gala and by shining a light on some of FEA’s promising scholars.

This is a big week for FEA. Thursday evening, they will host their Annual Scholar Gala at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. FEA provides game-changing scholarships to students who traditionally are underrepresented in study abroad:  minority, LGBTQI, first-generation, veterans, returning learners, disabled, and community college students, and students pursuing language instruction and non-traditional destinations. Such an opportunity can significantly impact their worldview and lives by developing their cultural and language skills, contributing to their personal growth, and boosting their professional prospects. Since 2010, FEA has awarded scholarships totaling over $775,000 to 167 students from across the U.S. For strategy and impact, FEA has a Gold Seal of Transparency from Guidestar.

Each of the past four years have introduced us to and connected us with bright, gracious, unique, and undoubtedly deserving FEA Scholars. The stories they share, some of which are written in online journal entries, were engaging and authentically spoke to the life-changing experience of their time studying abroad. Now, more than ever, study abroad has the ability to change lives and society for the better.

Join us in DC on Nov. 16 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts to support a good cause with a museum full of professionals, thought leaders and student scholars; FEA Scholars sharing their unique study abroad experiences; an open bar and culinary delights from around the world; and, exclusive after-hours access to the #NMWA collection, including Magnetic Fields! Every ticket purchased helps make the dream of study abroad possible for deserving students. Have fun, meet other committed folk and make an impact. And come say hi!
